Egg Spawn Timer
Eggs don't simply appear whenever you want them. Steal an Egg uses recurring spawn and reset cycles, which means knowing roughly when the next opportunity is coming can save you a lot of waiting. Five minutes is commonly used as a starting interval for tracking, but it should be treated as a timing reference rather than a guarantee that a Secret, Eternal, or Divine Egg will appear every five minutes. The actual timing should be checked in your current server and re-synced after changes.
If you're specifically hunting Rare Eggs, you don't need to sit in-game and watch the timer constantly. Steal an Egg Notifier guide covers alerts, spawn predictions, manual timers, and how to tell a confirmed alert from an estimate.
