Your Tournaments Rank is initially determined by your Rank from Competitive matchmaking, but changes over the course of each season depending on your Tournaments performance.

What's more, a new in-game currency called Tournament Credits is also introduced in the tournament. Tournament Credits are earned through winning games and can be redeemed for Cups, which can grant their own cosmetic rewards based on a team’s increased tournament ranks. In addition, tournaments will follow the same schedule as Rocket League's Competitive Seasons.
