Before Grinding: Get the Book of Guidance
Complete Kona's Recover the Lost Pages in Windy Peak. Find all five pages and return them to Kona for the Book of Guidance, which points you toward recommended progression quests.
Levels 1–25: Do Not Overstay Old Grind Spots
Level 1–6: Krue's Bandits
Repeat Krue's three-Bandit quest. Use these easy fights to learn blocking, short safe combos and stamina use.
Level 7: Zuko
Add the Mini Boss Zuko quest when you can clear him consistently. If he causes repeated deaths, an easier quest may still produce better XP per minute.
Level 25: Stop Pure Leveling and Unlock Breathing
Breathing trainer questlines open at Level 25. Current styles include Water, Thunder, Flame, Wind, Stone, Insect, Sound and Serpent.
From this point, train character level + weapon mastery + Breathing mastery together. These are separate systems; reaching a high level does not automatically finish your moveset.
Need them? Read How to Get Beast Core in Slayers 2.
Level 26 but Chaka Is Locked?
Once unlocked, repeat Kaiden's Subordinates. At Level 34, take the Kaiden quest and continue toward Level 40.
Level 40–60: Build for Final Selection
At Level 40, find Wagwan below the bear-area waterfall and repeat the available guard quests.
- Have one reliable short-opening damage option.
- Have a movement/approach tool.
- Have a defensive answer when your attack misses.
- Build HP, block and stamina around how you actually fight.
- Unlock Wall Climb and Double Jump if needed for traversal.
- Keep Breathing and weapon mastery moving.
Final Selection: Level 45 vs Level 60
Use the map marker to reach Final Selection and check the live gate countdown. The exact repeat schedule is not currently confirmed, so do not rely on an old hourly timetable.
Final Selection Quest Order
| Stage | What to Do | Common Mistake |
|---|---|---|
| The Sisters | Start the trial and return after the Hand Demon. | Leaving before the final turn-in. |
| Rem | Collect the requested fruit. | Following other players and missing your own objective. |
| Vael | Defeat five Lesser Demons and return. | Not checking quest credit. |
| Klien / Rika | Recover the katana, buy Bandages and complete treatment. | Arriving without enough Wen. |
| Mizuto | Use the underwater cave and obtain the Submerged Key. | Skipping the report-back step. |
| Parkour | Complete timed obstacles and levers. | Using Double Jump too early. |
| Lavato | Follow the four blue checkpoints. | Fighting unrelated enemies while timed. |
| Levi | Clear the camp and carry the civilian back. | Thinking kills alone finish the rescue. |
| Steve / Hand Demon | Defeat the Hand Demon, then return to The Sisters. | Boss dead ≠ exam complete. |
After Final Selection
After the final turn-in, the documented rewards include Mizunoto rank, Slayer Uniform, Ore and a Kasugai Crow.
Your next loop should combine Crow quests, Weapon Mastery, Breathing Mastery and Slayer Progress. Do not treat Final Selection as the end of progression.
Level 65: Unlock The Forge
At Level 65, speak to Blacksmith Togane in Hidden Mist Village and choose The Forge. The quest leads toward Ouwigahara and the next crafting stage.
Inspect the recipe for the weapon you actually want before farming. Later crafts can involve Metal Scrap, Silk Thread, Mythic Refinement Ore, schematics and prerequisite weapons.
Level 65+ Community-Tested Route
| Level | Reported Route | Best Practice |
|---|---|---|
| 62–75 | Jugg / Dreamfall Hollow | Move on once the quest stops being efficient. |
| 75–90 | Goro / Veillfall Cavern | Test the next quest chain rather than farming weaker mobs forever. |
| 90–105 | Wounded Slayer Tomoi / Iceveil | Set spawn closer to reduce travel after deaths. |
| 105–145 | Demon Slayer Mitsu / deeper Iceveil | Keep mastery progressing while leveling. |
| 145+ | Kasugai Crow + bosses | Rotate objectives instead of waiting for one boss respawn. |
Fast Leveling Tips That Actually Help
Move when the next bracket opens
Do not keep farming Bandits just because they are easy. Test the next quest as soon as you qualify.
Set your spawn near the grind
Long corpse runs silently destroy XP per minute.
Unlock movement early
Wall Climb and Double Jump help with trainers, traversal and Final Selection.
Harder does not always mean faster
A boss that takes several failed attempts can be worse than a quest you clear every time.
Train mastery while leveling
After Level 25, use the weapon and style you intend to keep.
Common Progression Problems
| Problem | Likely Fix |
|---|---|
| Lv.26 but Chaka has no quest | Check early quest handoffs, especially Kazu's notes → Noote. |
| Lv.25 but no Breathing | Level 25 unlocks trainer quests; you still need the trainer's tasks/materials. |
| Final Selection won't start | Be Level 45+ and check the live entrance countdown. |
| Hand Demon dead but exam incomplete | Return to The Sisters for the final turn-in. |
| High level but weak skills | Train Weapon/Breathing Mastery separately from character level. |
| Lv.65 but no Forge | Talk to Togane and choose The Forge quest dialogue. |
FAQ
What is the fastest leveling route in Slayers 2?
For early Slayer progression, use Krue → Tom → Chaka → Wagwan, unlock Breathing at 25, enter Final Selection from 45, and start The Forge at 65.
What level do you unlock Breathing?
Trainer questlines start at Level 25. You still need to complete the trainer's requirements.
What level is Final Selection?
Level 45 minimum. Around Level 60 is safer for a first solo attempt, but is not required.
Why is Chaka locked at Level 26?
Check earlier quest handoffs. An incomplete Windy Peak chain can block Chaka even when your level is high enough.
What should I do after Final Selection?
Equip your Crow, use bounty quests, train Weapon/Breathing Mastery, work on Slayer Progress and prepare for The Forge at 65.
What is the current max level?
Current launch-week sources disagree between 225 and newer routes extending to 255, so use the live game as the final authority after updates.
