Of course, the Treadmill isn’t the only way to raise Speed. You can also gain exponentially faster movement by equipping a Trail. There are ten Trail tiers, running from Gray up through Divine, and each tier is purchased separately in the Trail Shop with both a cash price and a Robux price.

What the Pen Does

The Pen is where hatched Pets actually live and generate income. Every Pet you hatch needs an open Pen slot to start producing cash passively. Without enough slots, Pets you’ve already hatched sit unused and stop contributing to your income, no matter how rare or strong they are.

Upgrading the Pen increases the number of Pet slots available, which raises your passive income ceiling directly: more slots means more Pets earning at once.

You don’t need a maxed Pen to reach new Biomes, but you do need enough Pen slots to make full use of the Pets funding your Treadmill and Trail purchases.

Treadmill vs Pen: Which Should You Prioritize?

Early on, the Treadmill should almost always come first. Speed is what unlocks new Biomes and better Eggs, and without it your income Pets stay capped at whatever low-tier Eggs you can currently reach. The Pen only becomes a priority once you already have enough strong, income-generating Pets that adding more slots meaningfully increases your cash flow. Dumping money into extra Pen space before you have Pets worth placing in it just slows down your Treadmill progress for no return.

• Low Treadmill level, few Pets: upgrade the Treadmill.
• Treadmill covers your current Biome gate, Pets are backed up with nowhere to go: upgrade the Pen.
• Both stalled: go steal a higher-value Egg first, then reassess.

How Treadmill Levels Affect Game Progression

Every Biome has a recommended Speed threshold before it’s safe to enter. Under-leveled runs get you caught and stripped of any Egg you’re carrying. Since Treadmill training bonus is the main lever for raising Speed, your Treadmill level effectively sets a ceiling on which Biomes you can farm. Pushing from Level 5 to Level 6, for example, jumps your per-step gain from 80 to 100. It’s worth doing once you’re grinding toward a Biome gate that’s currently just out of reach.
