A new May Day maze has been added to Animal Crossing: New Horizon
A new May Day maze has been added to Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The 2021 version will feature new challenges as well as a new prize.
This spring, Animal Crossing: New Horizons brings back the May Day seasonal event. Players will complete the 2021 May Day maze until May 7, and it features a new interface to keep things interesting for veteran maze-solvers. Rover the cat would reward those who completed the previous Animal Crossing maze with a new prize.
May Day is hosted by Rover, an Animal Crossing seasonal event NPC. The blue cat with big eyes has appeared in almost every previous Animal Crossing game. Rover's original job was to assist players in setting up their characters when they first started out in a new game, but he's swapped that role for one that leads players into warmer weather.
Unlike several other seasonal activities, May Day's main attraction is not accessible in the towns of the players. The maze is instead situated on a special island that can only be reached by flying with New Horizons' Dodo Airlines. Players just need to talk with Orville at the airline front desk to obtain a May Day Ticket. The ticket can then be used to travel to the May Day Tour island on any day between April 29 and May 7. This differs from May Day 2020 when players were required to talk with Tom Nook first before proceeding to the airport.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons: May Day Maze 2021's New Prize
The map will not be the same for those who completed the Animal Crossing May Day maze last year, and Rover will give a new prize. Those who began playing after the event or who did not complete the first maze challenge will instead earn Rover's 2020 prize. Since the May Day Tour island can only be visited once, new players will have to exchange for the prize for 2021 or repeat the competition the following year to obtain both.
When visiting the May Day Tour island, keep in mind that for the duration of the maze challenge, all inventory objects will be temporarily removed. With the resources available on the island, players can only use their imagination to solve the maze's puzzles. This Animal Crossing: New Horizons holiday experience is ideal for those who prefer a more video game-like obstacle to a traditional holiday celebration.
