There are 21 new bugs are coming to Animal Crossing's Southern Hemisphere in January

Since Animal Crossing's seasons are based in the real world, players in the northern and southern hemispheres will encounter different bugs and fish due to different seasons at the same time of year. Seasonal items, on the other hand, will remain the same, since they correspond to in-game calendar events rather than outside weather. There are no DIY recipes unique to January.

Luckily for insect lovers in the southern hemisphere, January is a good month for catching insects, with many high-value insects and beetles arriving on the islands next month. In Animal Crossing, however, January is low fishing season, with only a handful of new fish and sea creatures arriving in the southern hemisphere. Unfortunately, no new fish will be seen in the Northern Hemisphere, as the player's island will still be covered in snow and ice for the next few weeks.
